Please note that we do have nut allergies in our classroom. In order to keep all our students safe we are asking that snacks and lunches that are brought to school are "nut free".

 September Update

Language Arts

Our focus for September is routine for Daily 5. Students will be participating in literacy stations including Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word Work, Work on Writing, and Listen to Reading. Students will also have the opportunity to work one on one with the teacher during literacy time.

The reading focus will be on making connections to text as well as choosing "just right" books. The writing focus will be on printing and journal writing.

Religion

We will be introducing students to the Apostles’ Creed and the Beatitudes. Students will learn about the four parts of the Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Math

We will be learning all about patterns and how patterns can be used to describe the world and solve math problems.

Science

We will be exploring all about magnets and how they interact with materials around us as well as other magnets.

Social Studies

In Social Studies this year, we will be learning about three communities Iqaluit, Meteghan, and Saskatoon. The focus for September is investigating the physical and human geography and comparing to our community.
